Well, this sucks a fat kong-sized dongo. Looks like The Cutting Room is closing down.

Joan Rivers will be singing the club’s swan song on January 13th, 2009.

I love The Cutting Room. I played there 4 times in 2008 and it was a blast each and every time. The staff there are great to work to with and the sound there was consistently amongst the best of any club I’ve played in my career.

Seriously, this is really disappointing. There aren’t many quality cabaret style venues left in NYC with the intimacy and professionalism that The Cutting Room possessed.

So a shout out to Steve, Pete, and the rest of the crew at The Cutting Room: Thanks for the great times and I look forward to seeing what you are all up to in the New Year.
