For Better Microdosing Benefits Try These Four Simple Ceremonies
Ceremonies, rituals, habits, routines - whatever your addled brain wants to call them - really help with making the specific microdosing benefits you want happen for you.
When I’m guiding a full mushroom journey (or trip) for someone, I do initiate a ceremony based on what I feel is right for the client. These ceremonies are more involved and require a good amount of work out of me. But microdosing is different, you’re leading the ceremony and it doesn’t need to be involved or complicated. In fact, this is one of many areas where, when I look at what people say to do when microdosing, I feel things are made more complicated than they have to be.
A microdosing ceremony should embody the essence of microdosing: Intentional, reflective, and (drumroll, here’s where people complicate things) it fits in your goddamn day to day life as it is currently.
If you want to make a choice to start meditating 30 minutes before or after microdosing, or go through some elaborate intention setting practice, or journal for 20 minutes, that’s great! But it is not necessary to do these at all to see the benefits of microdosing.
So, especially if you’re just starting out, and particularly if the time of day you microdose is typically hectic for you, keep it real damn simple.
In my experience, these are the four best microdosing ceremonies one can do. The fourth one is perhaps the most involved, but also my personal favorite:
Microdosing Ceremony One: Write Down Your Intention
Write your intention on a piece of paper. If you don’t have an intention, write down something about someone you’re grateful for. Read it out loud 14 times. Throw it away. Some people burn the paper but I don’t encourage playing with fire, kid. But I guess arsonists gonna arson.
Microdosing Ceremony Two: Record Your Intention
Record your intention as a voice memo on your phone. Leave it playing on a loop while you prepare your microdose. Turn it off once you’re done.
Microdosing Ceremony Three: Deep Breaths
Before you take your microdose, take 14 deep breaths. Think of your intention on each inhale. With each breath try and go deeper into your intention. After 14 breaths take your microdose.
Microdosing Ceremony Four: Mindful Walk
Take a walk in the 5-20 min before or after microdosing
No phone
Keep your mind on intention and surrounding things. If you have trouble then think of your intention and focus on your feet hitting the ground.
Walk alone unless the person you’re with can shut the fuck up
If you don’t have an intention, think of someone you’re grateful for. I like gratitudes to be about people because people are what really helps us move energy since we’re all connected with these electric webs if you want to look at it like that.
If you try any of these, I’d love to hear about it. DM me on Instagram or tell me about it in a free consultation.
